CHRISTMAS CARD
using Gel Press Background

Hello & welcome! Today I'm sharing a Christmas Card using a fun background technique - with the Gel Press, Acrylic Paint & the Winter Wonderland stencil, all available at Fun Stamper's Journey! Let's get started!

Background Ingredients:

Gel Press
6" Brayer
Blue Lagoon Acrylic Paint
Cool Pool Acrylic Paint
Whip Cream Acrylic Paint
Whip Cream CS - 8 1/2" x 11"
Winter Wonderland Stencil

Lay the Winter Wonderland stencil on the Gel Press. Apply 4 to 5 small dabs of Blue Lagoon Paint randomly on top of the stencil. Repeat with Cool Pool & Whip Cream Paint. Blend the paint with brayer by gently rolling the brayer over the surface until paint is blended to your satisfaction ( I left mine a little mottled looking, but you can blend yours however you like!). Place Whip Cream CS on top of the painted stencil & press the CS into the stencil gently, but firmly with both hands. Rub over the entire piece of CS. Pull the CS off! Tada! You're done!!! You should see a lightly colored background with the snowflakes appearing a little darker on the entire piece.

To make this card:

Whip Cream CS - A2 Card and random scraps
Beach Breeze CS - 4" x 5 1/4"; 1" x 2 3/4"
Whip Cream Ink
Foam Squares
Fashion Silver
Journey Glaze
Sparkle Dust
Snow Blooms Dies
Happy Merry Stamp Set

Cut your finished gel press piece into quarters. Trim one of these pieces down to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". Attach this to a 4"x5 1/4" piece of beach breeze CS. Now attach this to A2 Whip Cream Card front. Apply small dots of Journey Glaze randomly over the background & coat with Sparkle Dust.

With the Snow Bloom dies, cut scrap pieces of Whip Cream CS with the medium and small dies. Add Journey Glaze & Sparkle Dust, set aside to dry. Cut a scrap of Beach Breeze CS to 1" x 2 3/4". Stamp the word "Merry" on this piece with Whip Cream ink. Cut tail on the right side of this piece, as seen in photo.  Add Journey Glaze and Sparkle Dust on the stamped word; set aside to dry for a few minutes.

Attach the two Snow Blooms die cuts together with foam squares, then attach to card front with foam squares. Then attach the "Merry" sentiment to lower left corner, as shown in photo. For the finishing touch, add our Fashion Silver.

I hope you've enjoyed today's share! I'll be making a video of this Gel Press Technique later, and will post the link here, so check back tomorrow! In the meantime,  Happy Crafting! Smiles, Laura

QUICK & EASY BIRTHDAY CARD

Welcome everyone! My Tuesday girls made this quick and easy card in class last week. Blending True Fusion inks with daubers is a fun technique that produces incredible results quickly. Here's the recipe!

INGREDIENTS:

Whip cream CS: A2 card (8/12" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half); 3 3/4" x 5"
Black Licorice CS: 4" x 5 1/4"
Lovely Blue Ink Pad
Cool Pool Ink Pad
Blue Lagoon Ink Pad
Pool Play Ink Pad
Whip Cream Ink Pad
Black Licorice Ink Pad
Stay Wild Stamp
Sentimental Prints Stamp Set
FSJ Gingham Black Licorice Ribbon
Sparkle Silk
Journey White Liner Tape
Optional - Snowflake Embellishment

DIRECTIONS:

With dauber, apply Lovely Blue ink randomly to smaller white CS in a circular motion. Repeat with Cool Pool, covering different areas & blending with the Lovely Blue. Next, sparingly apply a SMALL amount of Blue Lagoon to create some depth.

On the bottom third of your CS, apply a generous amount Pool Play with dauber, again moving in a circular motion. Now apply Whip Cream Ink with dauber to entire surface - you will notice that the Whip Cream Ink really helps to blend all the ink colors! Finally, tap Whip Cream ink in the top 2/3rds of this piece to create fluffy clouds! HEAT SET this piece briefly - the Whip Cream ink is pure pigment and will smudge if not heat set! Attach to Black Licorice CS. If you're adding a brad embellishment, attach it now. Then attach this piece to the card front.

Stamp the Stay Wild stamp & Happy Birthday stamp from Sentimental Prints with Black Licorice ink, as seen in photo, then flick on some Sparkle Silk! Let the Sparkle silk dry for a minute or two - while its drying, fasten a 2" bow with Gingham Black Licorice Ribbon, then attach with White Liner tape in upper left corner.

AND BAM!!!! The card is finished! You can add a sentiment or write your own personalized birthday wish to the inside!

I hope you've enjoyed today's share! Happy Crafting & Smiles, Laura
