Monochromatic Christmas Card

Today's share is a quick and easy monochromatic Christmas Card! I just love how blue and white look so nice together! Fun Stamper's Journey products are abbreviated as FSJ and Spellbinders products are referred to as SB. Let's get started!

INGREDIENTS

FSJ Stay Cozy stamp set (SS-0600)
SB Filigree Delight die set (S5-177)
FSJ Whip Cream CS - A2 card base, 4 1/2"x1" and 3 1/4"x4 1/4"
Cricut Sapphire Blue Glitter CS - 4 1/4"x5 1/2"
FSJ Huckleberry Fusion Ink
Stickles Icicle Glitter Glue
FSJ Craft Glue
Red Line Tape (Wonder Tape)
FSJ Bone Folder
FSJ Paper Snips
Tape runner

Other: Die cutting machine, paper trimmer, low tack tape

DIRECTIONS

SENTIMENT: Stamp the Happy Holidays sentiment with Huckleberry Fusion Ink on the smallest piece of Whip Cream CS. With paper snips, cut tails in each end (see photo). With bone folder, gently curl the sentiment - this will give a little extra dimension to the card when finished.

CENTER IMAGE: With Huckleberry Fusion Ink, stamp the houses onto the larger piece of whip cream CS. Secure the oval die from Filigree Delight to the image with low tack tape, then run through your die cutting machine..

FILIGREE BACKGROUND: Secure the largest die to the Sapphire Blue CS with low tack tape and run through your die cutting machine. Note that if you're using a hand crank machine, you may need several passes for this to cut thoroughly.

ASSEMBLY: Attach the Filigree die cut to your A2 card base with tape and glue. I really like the FSJ Craft Glue, it's got a small tip to dot areas of this diecut with easily! I used more tape in the center of this piece, and the glue in the small areas all the way around it.

Next attach the oval image. Please not that a lot of adhesives don't work well on the Cricut Glitter CS - I used the Red Line Tape to attach mine, as this type of tape is extra tacky...and it's worked very well!

Then attach the sentiment, again with the Red Line Tape, about 1/2" or so above the bottom of the card, just so that a little of the blue oval shows below the sentiment.

Now stamp your desired sentiment on the inside of the card. The FINAL STEP is to add little dots of the Stickles Icicle Glitter Glue onto the roofs of the houses... be careful not to apply too much at one time or it could cause the CS to warp a little. I applied the Stickles in small increments 3 different times, setting it aside to dry for about 20 minutes in between each application, and this worked very well! I do not recommend using cheap "bargain" glitter glues - in my experience the cheaper ones have a higher water content and almost always warp the CS...I've had a much better time with the Stickles!

As always, I hope you've enjoyed today's share! I would really love feedback from everyone who visits, so leave me a comment and follow! I sometimes post live videos on my FB Biz Page, so hear on over there also and please follow and like my page!    Smiles, Laura
